Exotic far off  places have long since captured our imagination. Ancient cultures, customs, and places conjure up a feeling of both escape and solitude. Such is the case with style inspired by the Pacific Rim which we see re-emerging for both indoor and out.
 
Nowhere has such a lovely mix of old and new, primitive and refined, texture and color lend its self to modern decor.  Modern tropical motif has a zen like quality, creating sanctuary and easily blends classic elements of design with modern landscape.  It uses saturated colors like red, royal blue and chartreuse for a pop of color against dark wood tones and is off set with the use of contrast in plant fiber accents such as abaca and bamboo.  Orchids and cherry blossom motifs are also interpreted in a modern way and include origami for a touch of whimsy.
