There is something uniquely American from the houses of Lauren, Jacobs and Hilfiger.  I am reminded of this with the partnership of HIlfiger with "The Preppy Handbook" announced yesterday.  It is classic and shouts "well traveled".  We take our cues from the  past but interpret them individually, creating our own sense of style.
