So, you finally are in that new home, apartments, flat, condo, or loft. You look forward to it with a bit of dread. How do I tackle this. What do I want it to say about me.  Where do I start? There is inspiration in everything. Look in  your closet...what colors and patterns are you drawn to? What are you comfortable in? You have a clean slate or canvas, just paint your picture.  Collect and post on a buletin board that which speaks to you. Look at it, live with it...then create it!
